Something you don't see everyday: Prooflike Liberty Nickels

Got these a few months ago and had them recently imaged by @messydesk. I included two photos of the 1883 No Cents.
Hope you enjoy them.

PL Liberty Nickels are definitely tough.
PL shield nickels and early-date Liberty nickels are available without too much searching. Proper alloying and heat treatment of CuNi was critical and many dies had to be repaired and resurfaced until the Philadelphia Mint gave up and contracted out CuNi planchets.
I disagree. Semi-prooflike nickels you can find. True prooflike nickels are tough. I've been almost exclusively collecting shield nickels for 10 years now. You can't find them. This 1867 was the closest one I was able to find:
The obverse is definitely prooflike. Nice, flashing mirrors. The reverse has zero mirrors.
This 1871 has okay mirrors on the obverse, but they're not deep enough to be a true PL. Reverse has none.
This 1881 has mirrors on both the obverse and reverse but they are not strong enough to be called PL.
Ya have to lift the rocks to find the fat worms...
Or wait until after a rainstorm
Coins under rocks and after rainstorms? Where do you guys live?
I miss IGWT.

Are you only looking for coins designated as PL? PL coins exist in PCGS plastic, but our host refuses to designate the as such.
@AmazonX ...Those are some very nice nickels.... Cheers, RickO
Very cool indeed
No, but some of them don't cut the mustard. Harder to find them online because some sellers like to use PL when it's far from that.
Yes. His coins were top notch. He had a great eye and was very knowledgeable. Definitely an influence. RIP.
