I used to get quite a number of these from my local Wells Fargo from 2005-2010. I have essentially gone cashless since. I haven't checked any rolls in years. I know, I should be jailed for my coin related hate crime. ;-)

Total silver value is $155.73., for three rolls, 60 coins.
On the top right of the screen is a link to coinflation .com.
    Is very useful.

The coins were probably stolen from a parent's collection by a bratty kid. I'm glad they at least went to someone deserving who would appreciate them.

you can not get silver value listed on coinflation.com for 40% coinage.
the big buyers that buy bags of these pay close to spot less $1.00 delivered.

Remember only the 1964'ish coins are pure silver. The 1967 have about half silver so at $10.00 per ounce you would have X's face for each one.

90% Silver. Not "pure" by any means.

Awesome find! Roll hunting halves sure was fun from about 2008-2012 at which point the silver in my area dried up (dimes remained good for a couple of additional years). At my peak I was doing 10-12 boxes per week. Lots of skunk boxes, but when you hit the good boxes it sure was fun. Ratio was usually about four 40% to every 90% found. I was never able to get these customer wrapped rolls in my area, only machine rolled -- Brinks, Loomis, etc. I sure miss those days and often think of doing a couple of 10 box experiments now and see what turns up. Need good bank contacts in order to pull off sorting in bulk. Dumping is the pits.

I am just letting you all know what is on the dealer to dealer sites. (CCE and COINNET)
    the facts are the facts.
dealers are NOT paying the full silver value!
begging will not change that fact.
you can't get full value from any dealer and getting it melted will cost more than you think and mostly results in even less than what you can get from a dealer.

No dealer in their right mind would pay anywhere near spot... maybe I should say smart dealer...

In the last four years, I have found one WLH in the rolls I have searched, no 90%, no 40%.... Seems all the silver in this area has dried up. Cheers, RickO

I would think it would be easier to find silver in halves than quarters as halves generally don't circulate much.

Finally finished going through the rolls of halves, 86 coins in all 40% silver 1965 thru 1969 not one 1970 coin. Any thoughts on why there are no 1970 Kennedy halves in this collection ?

= accumulation and NOT collection! So therefore no 70 D's.

I also searched Kennedy rolls from about 2006 to 2010, when I noticed a big drop in my success rate. Before that, I was averaging maybe one silver half (of some kind) per roll. Once I ordered a $1,000 bag from my bank--not a silver coin in the whole bunch.

I remember back then when you and some other member started hounding the local banks on the regular. I remember some nice hits from the rolls and from Coinstar.

Thank you. That explains why I didn't find any. I'll have to check for any varieties, I found a 1968-d triple die ddo a while ago, not to sure of any other varieties with this series of coin. The 1968 triple die ddo was quite obvious

    That's an exceptional hit rate.

I was at it from '09-'12 and I averaged, from boxes, 2.5 40% and 1 90%. I was turning over $20k a week at my peak.

Customer rolls had a much higher hit rate, I'd have to guess around 5x the aforementioned rates thanks to solid rolls.

Jeez, I thought I was going heavy at up to a dozen boxes a week. 40 boxes!!?? The dumping exercises must have been ridiculous. There was no way I could source that many. With the contacts I had, I was about maxed out.

Yes it is ! I usually only find two or three in customer rolls, (sometimes none ) when the teller called me, (I get them gift cards and they call me when they get customer rolls of coins ) and said someone just brought in rolls of halves do you want them ? I was expecting the same results as usual.
