Is this only for the book? It shows the clay cast, but doesn't say the auction is for the clay cast.

    Well, the listing says

Beautiful clay piece by world-renowned sculptor Glenna Goodacre. A piece of history! Does NOT come with coin OR book- just in display for visual. This piece is brand new.....was a gift to me from her but it is simply not my taste.

I wonder how many of these Goodacre made to sell/give away?

She used to sell these on her website. I know there is one pictured on www.smalldollars.com . There may be more details there.

sold for $132.. a good price for buyer.. and may be just my principles, there is something dirty IMO, about selling on ebay, a "gift" an artist gave you as a present, not sure why, but doesn't sit well with me

What on earth did happen to the original design? That looks so much more attractive, and realistic than what is on the dollar coins now...
