State Quarters into album

After months of this project being on my desk, my 8 year old and I have finished for now. We sorted about 1,500 quarters into state piles. Then he sorted out Ps & Ds and picked his 'besties'. I plopped them into his album and voila. (I'll read this thread with him later. Sorry the pics are petty terrible.)
Thanks,

Congrats! That sounds like a fun!
I'm surprised there are so many holes after 1,500 quarters. Were none available or none in good condition?
Old school album collecting and quality family time.
It's an overused phrase but....It's all good.
That's a nice album, btw.

None were available for the holes. All are in pretty good AU/MS condition. The sources were odd:
1) Half of a collection from his Great Grandparents who joined the state quarter craze. The other half would probably fill a lot of the holes.
2) A collection from his Grandmother (antique dealer who finds stuff) that had only one of each state in coin capsules with Ps/Ds at random, and I swear a mix of satin and business strike.
Time to go to the coin show and pay too much for the holes, but it will be fun.

That was from 1500 state quarters rather than 1500 quarters, right?
I've been collecting them all along and pulling nice coins from rolls and still have a few holes.
The parks quarters are really tough.
Sounds like a great way to spend time with your 8 year old
HAPPY COLLECTING
