O/T.. Lets see some 1942 coins in Honor For Sunday's 75th Anniv ..Battle of Midway

June 4th ,1942.. undermanned US Navy damaged ,destroyed 4 of Japan's Carriers at Midway island.. may US fliers lost their lives....with the US Carrier Yorktown destroyed .Thanks to all that fought the battle, only 6 months after Pearl Harbor attack

The Akagi, Kaga and Soryu were lost first. Then the Hiryu was lost a short time later. All four were fleet carriers that had taken part in the attack on Pearl Harbor the previous December.
On the US side the heavily damaged Yorktown was abandoned, then reboarded and stabilized. It was under tow when torpedoed by a Japanese submarine.
