Are there any PCGS 1921 peace dollar Matte Proof coins certified or are they all NGC?

I find it hard to believe every last one is in an NGC holder.

I don't believe PCGS has holdered any. I think only anacs and ngc have.

Yup it seems odd that none of these ever made it into PCGS plastic.
I think I cherry picked one and I'm trying to figure out what to do about it.
I have heard that PCGS errs on the side of caution. So unless you have a direct line from the mint it may end up in a vam 1f holder. just my opinion....
A. No such critter as a "1921 Matte Proof Peace dollar." The known proofs for 1921 are all sandblasted proofs or satin proofs.
B. Repeat A.
C. There are also normal circulation 1921s that were sandblasted and antiqued in the mint, and imitations that were sandblasted by people trying to defraud buyers.
GOT IT but you better educate PCGS. I suggest you email them immediately and have them correct their website.

Do your believe that there are TPGs such as NGC and or ANACS that have authenticated a proof peace dollar when in fact is was a circulation strike?
The TPGs have to educate themselves. This stuff is not new - sandblasting collector coins dates from about 1908 up through the 1940s, and other information has been available for more than a decade along with the documentation. [Many of the screw-ups can be attributed to Wally Breen's ignorance of production processes, and willingness to makeup stories to cover his buns.]

I have seen photos of antiqued and sandblasted circulation strikes with good credentials for being mint products. Never handled one in person, though. I've also seen in person several 1921s that were sandblasted outside the Philadelphia Mint as confirmed by surface marks lying under the sandblast.
Can we see it?

I'll take a picture.
One of these is an NGC graded 1921 Satin proof peace dollar.
One of these I picked out of Long Beach some years ago. Mostly what I'm looking at his how strong the hair around the ear is struck up. You almost never see the 1921 in a full strike.
Without cheating, guess which is which!
TOP one for sure! It has the matching die polish lines.
I'm going to say that yours is the lower one, it's a little bit less well-struck. The base of the neck and hair aren't quite as well defined but still very nice. Is this the one you were talking about selling a few months ago?

Top one

They have the exact same die polish lines although it's difficult to see them in the bottom picture.
I could understand that. Would love to see both in person! Either one of them are phenomenal.
