You could not possibly make a coin more orange than this

I need toner stoner assistance on this one. So I'm unpacking my hoard of old proof sets and I find a quarter that has turned orange. Not subtle orange but Halloween orange. Donald Trump hair orange.
The set is still completely sealed and this is undoubtedly NT (lolz) and the other coins look pretty normal other than the nickel which appears a little purple.
Is this just a junker or does it have potential?

Someone will like that coin and set at a premium, but the spots on the obverse of the coin will limit that pool of folks.

Spots, shmots..... TONING
trumps all other factors.
Maybe I should dip it............
Yes, they are minor and natural, so they do not detract imho.

If you can find someone who will pay a premium for a 1962 proof set with a toned quarter ... take the money and run! In my opinion, the toning on that quarter lack eye-appeal.
I'm having trouble capturing the look of this thing through the plastic. This is a lot closer to what it looks like in hand.
It's a relatively common color profile of proof 1960-1964 silver. It carries a premium for sure. Here's one I submitted.
Here is another.

Sellers picture. It is no where near this color. I fell for it though.

Oh well.
Have you tested it for Vitamin C?

Hey, I drank your coin this morning.
Don't know why I expected a Lincoln Wheat cent or Gold in this thread. Well, I do, but that's another story. Nice one, in either case.

Before I scrolled to the picture and after you said it was a quarter, I would have wagered that it was a 1962.
For whatever reason, they tone orange like that sometimes.
A few years ago, I had one similar to yours. All 3 silver coins were pumpkin orange.
The nickel was blue/yellow/orange and the cent was only slightly toned.
I agree that someone might pay a premium but that the spots will hold that premium down.

I find it amazing that anyone would pay a premium for that coin.... I know, old refrain from me.... but to spend good money on environmental damage just boggles the mind. Cheers, RickO

Ran across this one a while back.
Those are trippy.
Something of a vintage reference, but I'm old enough to have got it. LOL

So would Pr...
Um, never mind that last one.
Give it and others to a Scoutmaster along with any date sandwich set. Merit badge worthy, YN's in the making with a 7 minute story to work off of, research to follow,
I believe there was an occurrence of "off which to work" last week. Spread like wildfire Someone, maybe two, liked it.
Yuge and so sad at the very same time.
