Congrats on a very cool pick! Don't know if the error adds or detracts from value. Certainly there are those that are interested in the dual error/variety coins!

I dunno. To me this looks like RDV-5, normal reverse.

Im not seeing the "flared G," but it could just be the glare in your photos.

Here's all the Markers for Die 1, Stage C .
I only shot one image of the Date, which covers the Die Scratches in front of Date,
Die Clash in front of Neck, Die Clash in front of Date .

    Here's an image of Die 1, stage c .

The one I have is a later die state then stage c .
The polishing lines are amazing, even around the FG and here's a full shot of that area .
Also, pay attention to how long the top bar of the " F " is .
The 88 is a lot smaller on the top bar of the " F " then the 89 .

    Here's the cropped image .

I don't see the serif on the G based on all pix of it.

The seller's comes closest but not sure how much is shadow since the light was to the right of where the serif would terminate.

The shape of the FG appears different than the Die Stage C example you last provided.

The amount of real estate between the base of the Memorial and G is also greater on the Die Stage C example although the off-center strike may answer that, hard to say from what I see.

I believe your scope suffers both optical and chromatic aberration and this task seems to show those limits.

These pix just don't make the case unless those showing other markers do it without seeing the FG.

I don't know about all the markers since I haven't gotten motivated enough to go hunt them down and study it that way.

If you've laid eyes on it with a good piece of glass and can see the serif beyond what these pix show, I'd say you should know.

I don't even know why the mint would strike a coin, with this late of a die state .
my best guess would be, stage D at the earliest ..

This was a period of history when United States Auto Manufacturers were at least a few years into putting nuts and bolts all over the same vehicle having head sizes 10mm next to 3/8" next to 7/16" next to 11mm next to 13mm next to 1/2" next to 9/16" next to 15mm next to 5/8" next to 11/16" next to 17mm and so on.

The answer is, "when did Hate Crimes originate?"

The devices appear well formed, reasonably crisp and sharp with Lincoln still present sitting in his fasces armchair.

Do you think it possible there had been a reverse die clash that had affected this die prior?

I think a little bit of everything, effected these dies .
