Anyone here who simply does NOT own a Morgan silver dollar in their collection?

I understand not collecting the series, yet there is so much offered by these large silver coins. Perhaps a toning enthusiast would own a Morgan or even a type set collector who needs a sample to finish their set. A VAM collector? I ran into a dealer at a local show awhile ago who did not offer any Morgans for sale. His logic was something along the lines, "they're too common and too many other dealers offer them".

Anyone who doesn't own a Morgan dollar whatsoever and if so, why not?

    I used to, but I sold the few I had. It seems like everyone and their mother collects Morgans. Other series have always held my attention better. It's just a personal preference. I'd rather have a peace dollar than a morgan.

    No Dollars of any kind. Just like smaller silver and copper. Dollars take up too much of a slab.

    If there are any US coin design I don't own, (and there are more than a few), it's only because I haven't found one I like and can afford. ;)

    Me sold all of them.
    Had a Everyman set years ago but like a lot of sets gone now.
    Have a lot of Silver Comemmorative dollars though.

    Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

    I've owned them before, but I haven't had one in a decade. I'm not being contrarian-- I just don't know if I want a scarcer date in a low-grade or a common date in a high-grade. I'm not going to try to assemble a set, so I'll probably only own one.

    The Morgan dollar is one of those coins even non collectors have one or two laying around.

    I simply find the design busy and flat.
    Someone gave me a replica once and I believe it is buried under a pile o' war nickels, somewhere...

    Now riding the swell in PM's and surf.

    I have just one. Its a grey XF- low AU 1900-O....came from my wifes' grandfathers collection. Probably cleaned at some point....but will never be replaced.

    I don't care for the series. I do have a worn 1882-0 raw maybe vf that a older man gave me in 1960 to get me started in coin collecting. He also gave me a 1905-O Barber Half raw about ag at best. I have always kept them even thru the silver booms as a reminder of him.

    I have a couple of Carson City, 1878 MS63 and 1884 Uncirculated Horde, and three other randoms, so, a handful in the pile just because. They just made so dang many of them, lol

    I own one 1921 piece because i got it as a gift. Therefore, I do not considee myself an owner of any morgan dollsrs (in fact, i do not know where my 1921 pieces is right now). Why: It is not my specialty, so I have never got around to buying one and I have no motivation to.

    Only ever had one. Sold long ago. Like others here it was a gift from a family member. I prefer the Peace design. However, if I obtain one or two in the future, it would be a "CC" and an "O" mint example.

    I like the look of the toning on some. But the Eagle's body looks like a chicken to me.
    I just dont get why they bring so much money in uncirc grades when there are 10's of thousands in each grade on some date/mms. Not really rare, so why the big bucks?

    I've noted several opinions I agree with. I think that they are so ubiquitous that it is similar to seeing a low level GM sedan - nothing inspiring me to want to own one.!

    I remember owning on in the little white ANACS holder than was marked, "UDM" and it was so stunningly black and frosty white so as to set the whole coin off. I understand the design isn't everyones cup of tea (and thus this thread) yet the special Morgans that are out there. . . make up for any deficiencies..
