i picked it up yesterday.
this coin is pretty dirty, but there's a lot of luster underneath it all.
also, it has a wicked delamination on the obverse. you can't fully see it in the photo, but under glass it looks like you could peel off a layer, like mica, almost...except with the luster of gold!
this area looks like a black line in the photo, but that's actually a crack.
i have two questions for you to answer, in this order: what do you grade it? what do you think the grade is? (just answer once if both grades are the same.) also, feel free to comment on the coin...good or bad.
i'll reveal the grade tomorrow.

35-40. Too many hits.
I would go 45 as well - eyebrow and hair wear too much for AU - but the reverse looks 50. Doesn't matter what the grade is, more importantly it is a very nice coin!
Best, SH
AU 50 sounds right .And love the eye appeal.
Looks lie a guillotone cut on the neck? That aside I say a nice dirty AU53.

AU-55...I think the guillotine cut is the crack...relatively clean fields...pretty good strike...much luster remaining under the dirt...very little actual wear...I think what might look like wear on the obverse is a bit of a soft strike as evidence by the "E" in Liberty...only major distraction to me is the hit on the cheekbone...I'd guess that at 55 it would get a green bean..
Nice coin!!!
Au 55 net 53 due to mark and lamination.
Very nice color and luster
40
AU50, for the luster. I like the look.
I'm in the 53 camp
40
nice dog, 45 or 50.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
I like it because it's a lamination coin.
50
53
As a Philly product, I'd say XF-45. If it was from a branch mint -- an easy AU-50 or AU-53.
'dude
50?
I would guess 45.....not sure what the grader said...shame about the issue on the neck...Cheers, RickO
thanks everyone for the comments and guesses.
i grade the coin au53.
If I was sent a coin with a lamination flaw like that, I'd send it back. I am surprised they stickered it at all.
on this coin i think it adds character. not so much on a flying eagle cent.
As stated above I think it would holder today at 53. I am not surprised to see it as a 45 in the OGH. But like EagleEye I am a bit surprised it CAC'd. Although I am not so much bothered by the guillotine cut, I would think that some would be and that kind of goes against the CAC business model as a sight unseen market.
