Possible error on Missouri quarter

I got a Missouri quarter in change yesterday. Not familiar with the design, I put it on my scanner to examine it more closely, then looked up an image of what it is supposed to look like. Supposed to say "CORPS OF DISCOVERY"; this quarter reads "COPPS OF DISCOVERY". Has anyone seen this error before? j Sorry I am new at this, don't yet know how to attach an image.

Possibly a filled die wherein a blob of grease blocked the leg of the R so that the coin metal could not flow into it. If so a cute error, but not worth much.

Sorta like that Seinfeld episode, "Who invaded Spain in the 8th century?"

  • Thanks, I have scanned the coin from several angles, and indeed the leg of the R is actually there, but not in high relief. Just an ordinary quarter.

The mint made an oops! I mean Moops. No, I mean COPPS.
