Awesome! At the Central States show, a dealer told me he went 2 for 20 on his last order and is done with CAC. To go undefeated is an amazing accomplishment!

That's where it sucks to be a dealer. At least at the collector level, you don't pay for the 18 that didn't pass. :#

Well, it also says something about the dealer........either they don't know the coins as well as they think they do and/or they just threw them in the box and hoped.

Stewart KNOWS his copper. He isn't buying crap coins.

I'm nowhere near his level and I do decidedly better than 2 for 20....because I generally screen them. I have only tossed a few in "hoping" for lightning to strike nicely. The rest, I screened and knew they should have CAC'ed.

I would bet the same with Stewart. He has more than he submitted, but he screened out the top ones to send in for what he wanted.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Congratulations. When you send your best you are likely to get superior results. Probably one reason PCGS crossovers are running over 50%.

I would agree with you 100%. I would be willing to bet that that dealer just does not know the coins he sent in as well as he thought. I know, that if I had to pay for every coin going to CAC pass or fail, I'd screen them very intently. Now as a collector, you can just hope and pray and submit everything. But you won't learn much by that approach either. I see CAC as a learning experience.

Stewart, I expected nothing less given your eye for Copper. Your 1877 MS IHC should have a gold sticker.

J Dimmick - I bought a complete collection of Flying Eagle cents,Flying eagle patterns, and mint state Indian cents "raw" in the 1990's. This 56 was in it as well as an 1858/7 that graded Ms 65.

Tradedollarnut - I thought about 5 coins from the submission could have gold stickered.
However, since I am humble, I am very happy with the results. I know there will be more to come !
I did get 6 gold stickers on my Barber dimes when I went 119/120

I would trust Mr. Blays thoughts on what is supreme copper over some Gold guru in Na Joisey.
