Bought an interesting $2 1/2 Pendant

I've bought plenty of $2 1/2 in bezels, but this is my first like this. I had to buy it just because I was curious what it was. It almost looked like a clear resin was dropped onto the coin, permanently sealing it inside. It has a rubbery feel to it. I had to cut the bezel to open it, and it turned out to be two cup shaped soft plastic pieces, almost like contacts. Seems like it protected the coin pretty well too! Has anyone seen coins in bezels like this before?

I have seen them in eBay auction before but I've never taken one apart.... Very cool... And like you said it seems to have preserved it well
Successful trades.... MichaelDixon,
Saw one similar to it a long time ago. Not common.
That is new to me.... It looks as if it has preserved the coin well... Cheers, RickO

Great way to have your cake and eat it too
A problem free coin for your collection and a neckless to boot
BTW I made a cast copy of a Indian $5 when I was in dental school that my wife wears it mounted in a bezel quite a bit when attending a coin show. Looks like a polished coin and almost need a glass to tell it's a cast copy.
Never fails to get a compliment
Ms. Liberty didn't want to wear glasses so she wore contacts.
cool
Although not quite as tall, I bought many bezels like that in the shop.
They may have been popular a long time ago.
