Doing a little cleaning today, and received a small reward.

zippcityzippcity Posts: 1,272 ✭✭✭✭

Found this little bag today while doing a little cleaning, it's from one of my GI Joes from when I was a kid that i had forgotten about and this is where I used to put coins I found. Dumped it out and this is what there was.
Looks like 9 1945 micro s mercs. and this Lincoln cent, best pics I can do , due to it's wear I don't think a positive analysis is possible. thoughts. B)

Looks like the Jefferson bottom row to the left under the liberty nickel is a laminated obverse. Is it a war nickel?

A time capsule from your youth! What a treasure it is. But I cant help but think maybe the GI Joe doll would be worth a lot more than these forgotten coins, both in value and sentimentality.

    Thanks for sharing this!

It looks like that laminated nickel spent some time in the trenches with old GI Joe. :)

My brothers and I used to have the GI Joe "footlocker" -- cool story and find, thanks for sharing it

That's REALLY cool!! Where in the world was it?

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

it somehow found it's way into this little box which was stuck in the back of a dresser drawer out in the utility room. B)
