Against advice, I bought the coin before I bought the book. 1938 Proof Washington Quarter.

Not to worry though......the book arrived today!
And what an awesome book it is as well.
I can't get over the quality. Laser-like text, super clear pics too.
Excellent work @RogerB . Looking forward to reading it.
I also couldn't be happier with this PR65 WQ I picked up a few weeks ago.
It's a significant addition to my Silver Washington set.

Nice coin. Book looks interesting.
Thanks! The printer did a great job with everything! (I passed your comment on to the printer.)
Nice 1938 quarter, too. Notice the re-engraving on the wings and Washington's queue?
I'm still working on my 1950-64 coins in my Washington proof registry set but I cannot wait to pick up that book when I get to the earlier dates. Really nice coin !
That's a nice looking coin for sure
Good looking proof!

Coins are cool. Books are over-rated.
Yes, on the re-engraving. Clear as day now that I know to look for it.

I've always liked the 1936-1942 proof coins and thought there're undervalued in comparison with much higher mintage moderns.
Careful use of the book and data contained there in can help collectors make better decisions about buying or selling these proofs. (There are no item prices in the book, although several price trends are discussed.)
Hmmmm....this makes want the book more

I think you'll survive.
You can also estimate how many "cameo" proofs might have been made - and might still exist - for various dates and denominations. This is because the die usage tables show when new obverse and reverse dies were first paired. This is the only time "cameo" proofs could have been made.
