What is Tom saying, or is he just blowing smoke?
Starting last summer, in order to better play "Follow the Lead Picture" post, I began to try and fill in date "holes" in my run of US coinage from 1794 - 2017. (Note, this just means, at a minimum, to try and have at least one coin from each date). Needless to say it's still VERY much a work in progress for the earlier years. Here's a Jefferson I picked up last summer to fill in a date hole.
So, what is Tom saying, or is he just blowing smoke?
The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.

Took me way longer than it should have to see what you were saying. Clearly he is saying "In God We Trust".

In the best tradition of cartoon dialog balloons, it appears to me that he's saying, "In God We Trust"?
he is expressing his support for decrim
I'd walk a mile for a camel

How much face value when you're done?

They grew tobacco at Monticello, so I'd say blowing smoke.
They grew a lot more than that hahaha
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman.."
Sally would agree with you, Banknotes.
The picture make his grin look extra mellow, so I'm guessing he's thinking about what he wants on his pizza.

92% responded- Never again
I don't know what he might be saying, but he better get out of the way of that approaching car with it's headlights on.
I got a $2 bill once that had "I GREW HEMP" stamped in front of Tom's mouth
I used to think it was disrespectful to refer to your United States Presidents by their first names in unfamiliar company.
maybe he's blowing bubbles
Well, I was concerned when I first read the thread title...

I think rolling paper was invented in the 16th or 17th century.
