One way might be to see who brings up 15 year old threads that they have no connection to. Are there others??

The mannerism in which they speak/type is usually indicative.

Sometimes similar petty gripes can be a give away

They use carbon dating on underwear samples at the OFR!
They have the same hot buttons or appear to dislike the same forum members....Cheers, RickO
They post ridiculous advice on what someone should/should not get graded.
Language pattern analysis.
Without naming anyone, but just as an estimate, how many alts would you guess there are?
Inane threads are usually a dead giveaway, lol
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
....as opposed to this numismatically important thread.
1997-present
.........................they get defensive when they're called out!!
posting obscure rhyming couplets stolen from 50's era roadside signage
Checking the URL of any photos the suspect posts
When they invariably get bammed within their first 30-90 days.....that pretty much seals it.
So, glicker, just a question for you then.......just HOW MANY alts HAVE you had? At least a handful.....probably closer to a dozen, right? All banned but this current one? Maybe one other?
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Renman is not an alt.
....and the couplets are all original!!
In this thread? At least one.

All I know is that patient zero had a mighty mouse avatar
Sorry to derail this, but here are two new acquisitions. I thought the rare dates were complimentary in their spiffy secure plus holders.
You mean since the start of this year, right?
Banter is no fun...
When you're only one.
The House likes to 'bam'...
So go light on the spam.
Warning Shave!
Oops. Slight mistake.

I recall the mouse..
And I may have the answer..
It seems to me your suspect..
Is Pollywog Rancher!
Frank Gorshin Shave!
Cool! Someone besides me remembers those red Burma Shave road signs!

Not that Mighty mouse the other one
Many lurk here for months or even years before they finally join.

A new member may have done a search for past threads concerning a question they have or a topic that they have an interest in. Rather than start a new thread on the same topic they just post to the original thread.

They'll use the word, "spiffy" in a post.
Perry, get over yourself, he's a former banned member.
A bit of truculence towards PerryHall for not wielding a torch and pitch fork?
The civility on this forum appears to be lacking.....
I agree and I know who you are talking about (actually there are several others) but I was speaking in general terms. If a bammed member comes back under a new identity and behaves himself I don't really care. If he starts breaking the rules again it's easy enough with the new forum software to report him using the flag feature at the bottom of each post.

That is true, but to the OP's question, I think there's no way to tell, because even face to face, a person doesn't really know another person. Though we are all seemingly predictable, each is unique in their own way.

They also continue their pattern of modest but fun giveaways. They accumulate a lot of LOL's as they take nothing too seriously and they maintain old and good friendships with past forum comrades.
sorry guys, but what are ALTS?
Alternate identity. Someone who is already registered here comes back and registers again under a different identity.

I thought MG licker could have been a British sports car fetishist.
Topstuf......you still have an unclaimed win from a 2006 giveaway. It is a 5 pound Kosher Wilno Salami. Please PM your addy!
...to tell you the truth...I didn't mind Glicker that much and alway's "glicked" on his threads to at least see what was new...he was like the almost too-fast pace car that never runs out of gas
One way to tell is they change their chat icon.
Only the crusty and stale collectors do that.
