Bullion should not be graded :)

That's my thought. Have fun, all!

Cool giveaway. I always thought it would be nice to have a Full Hand designation on Walking Liberty Halves.

How about PCGS giving commemorative halves and other series the PL designation similar to NGC?

As a collector I completely agree, as an investor (of CLCT) I completely disagree. :)

Edited to include "of CLCT" for clarification.

Its a fine line between Collecting and investing. I don't think anyone collecting does not think that they are at least investing in something to pass on to the next generation, and in that, will help keep the industry alive for years to come.

"History In Your Hands, Donald J. Trump, 45th President (tm)", is the biggest under / over in PCGS ASE promotional label history. I'll go under. DJT and ASEs? No-one cares.

Coin grading should have a separate label designation for degree of eye appeal of tarnished coins. Such as
MS69/EA9 (on a scale from 0-10). Cheers, RickO

Destroying any .001% chance that what I wrote would win, your telling me to be "apolitical here" is crazy.

IT'S FREAKING PICTURED. IMAGED. PRODUCED BY PCGS.

    Wut.

State quarter binders should be hand out for free in public libraries. Kiddies can start up their own clubs, have fun socializing while learning our nation's history and obtain resources on site for reference.

One of the best TV quotes ever (IMHO) makes me think about numismatics. In the last episode of "The Office" Andy said, "I wish there was a way to know you’re in the 'good old days' before you’ve actually left them."

This draws my mind to the days before third party grading, eBay, gradeflation, the demise of B&Ms, and the like. Although I remain bullish on coin collecting, I think the "Golden Days" of numismatics has passed....

I'm addicted to exonumia ... it is numismatic crack!

The Variety Attribution Quarterly special (April-Jun 2017) is a good idea, however, our host should reduce the attribution fee by half if the submitter correctly identifies the variety, saving the attributor time, which would save money. If the coin is not variety attributable, our host charges half of the present $18 per coin. Why not use the other side and charge half for a properly identified variety? ANACS does.

*Will I be charged if my coin does not qualify for Variety Attribution?*
In the event the coin does not qualify for a variety or is not a variety PCGS currently recognizes, PCGS will still charge a fee of $9 per coin. PCGS graders must examine the coin and research to determine whether or not a variety is appropriate. Thus the service is still provided. As a result, PCGS will only charge 50% of the original Variety Attribution fee.

Here's an idea - moving from using images to using short videos when selling by using a little gizmo with a turntable and a phone holder to take short videos of coins accompanied by a simple app that takes the video and uploads to your youtube channel or instagram and create an embed code for your auction listing. Rotation would allow for showing surfaces and luster and having a standard set-up will allow people to shoot large volumes of coins.

    Cheers!

I am getting my Grandchildren ages 5 and 11 interested in the hobby.
They understand the minting process, differences of copper, silver, gold.
It is also an economic lesson, showing how large a cent from the 18th Century had much more purchasing power.
Have a few games involving pocket change such as finding a certain year-mint mark.
We have a good time doing it.
