clad coins with rainbow toning

I came across a post on a Coin Chat that really surprised me. The post is to show off toned coins (There are about 700 pages of them) what caught me off guard is that there are pictures of several (maybe two dozen) clad quarters with rainbow like toning.
If anyone here has a clad coin with colorful toning I would love to see it. I would also like to hear how such toning might have come about. I personally have never seen a clad quarter with anything but battleship gray toning until now.

All my clads turn blue or purple blue and lavenders. I never get reds or yellows. Usually starts as a haze then film, and then film turns to a purple glaze I guess.

I concur.... Dansco does a very nice job of toning clad coins, everything from rainbows to pastels... Some can get rather crazy.

I just checked. The clad quarters I have are in a folder made by a company called H.E Harris.
I also have some that where stored in an envelope inside a cardboard box. nothing toned.

I have noticed some toning (light golden toning) for state/territories quarters stored in littleton albums like the one linked below:

And about my 1971 clad half - unfortunately Im not aware of the history on the color profile . Bought it raw in a white 2x2 at a local coin show.

I thought I remembered that coin from that thread you made when you got it. Its not exactly an easily forgettable coin

That golden purple 2003 Kennedie needs to be graded STAT (with pcgs)!

In the right environment (folders, envelopes, frying pans) clad will tarnish nicely.... and there are other effective, efficient methods as well... Cheers, RickO

Those dimes are too pretty. So many here would have told the collector, "don't bother having them graded. They're just clad dimes, not worth anything and you're wasting your time getting them to pcgs". Now look. they're worth hundreds (more to the collector). Get your coins graded and authenticated and let others laugh.

Clad coins with nice toning are around but they are much harder to come by (and much harder to photograph IMO).

Is it more difficult for clad coins than for normal copper-nickel coins to tone? I would think it would be the same since the outer composition is the same, but I feel like I see more toned nickels than anything else. Anyway, here are a couple of copper-nickel (not clad) coins that I have. Both MS67+.

The last two above are gorgeous! But that '73-D dime has to be the prettiest toned clad coin I've seen.
