  • I just came across a couple of Blue Whitman Type Sets that were used like this. 1957 for my friend and 53 for his brother. The dad even glued in a couple of Silver Certificates. It's also sad since the brother is long gone

Sounds like a nice way to remember them, and to be remembered.

So sorry.... what an adorable little boy. Never really lost anyone tragically, except for a friend when we were 19 y/o. I don't have any remembrances in the form of coins for him. The 1919 Walker issues are all special to me, because they are my grandfather's birth year. He died of cancer, when he was 72 y/o.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

It was around this time when an unexpected death happened to my dad 27 years ago. I was an underage boy back then. I sold most of my coin collection just to pay for the funeral and one black suit. But all of the ASEs were buried along with dad. :/ And now I am working 3 jobs just to pay the bills and buy some more ASEs.

    They are just boxes :'(
