The Atlanta Federal Reserve...definitely worth a visit

Even though I had lived in the Atlanta Metro Area for 35 years I had never visited the Atl Fed. I have known for quite some time that they have a money museum and a display of a complete Dahlonega date set paired with several Bechlers and even a Templeton Reid. It seem that alone should have gotten me there years ago before I moved to the Georgia mountains.
Well yesterday the wife and I finally made it the Fed, and I can tell you it was well worth the trip. Lots of great coins, currency, and informative exhibits. Unfortunately they do not allow any photography, which is understandable since you get to view some of their currency operations. So I have no images to share, and we all know that this thread is "worthless without pictures" ![]()
But here is a link to their website and their story of money display which will give you an idea of what's there.

If you live in the Atlanta area, or are just visiting I strongly recommend visiting the Fed. It is free and right across the street from the Midtown Marta Station so it is simple to get to. Give yourself 2-3 hours to really take it all in. You won't be sorry IMO.

Nice report!
Don't ask for free samples, their senses of humor are surgically removed when they get the jobs.
It would be a great trip. I went to the Ft Worth BEP, very similar arrangement and rules. We did see one of the guys in the "money room" take a sheet of $100 bills and make a paper airplane out of it and fly it across the room. There was also an operator at the spider press in which they made an Intaglio back/reverse print of a Great Watermelon Note ($100). Pity that these were not available for purchase. My daughter was a little distraught thing that the BEP was just a big Kinko's.
