Saw this 1955 amazing color 'Bugs Bunny' Franklin Half(MS64FBL) at the Baltimore show.

The dealer said he was asking over $1,000 for it.
As much as I was mesmerized by the color and the 'BB' pedigree, I had no intention on spending that kind of money on said piece.
Where am I going wrong here?

Tough coin with that kinda culla. Very few of this date look like this. I couldn't care less about the FBI, or the BB. Too bad it's not a gem.
Nice color and coin but not nice enough to be over a grand for me
HAPPY COLLECTING
It does not appear you have gone wrong here...
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
You did right by passing this one by. Tone/color is not worth over 10X the value of the coin...at least not this one!

Saw that one on a short video and some pics on Instagram. It looked like a knockout, not sure about paying $1K for it, but I'm betting the buyer is very happy with it. The TV here makes the luster look flat on the obverse. It's anything but.

Rare with full cheek bone and bell divits. plus color. Should be Plus/Secure graded for added protection.
I think you won that interaction.
Lol a grand come on now
That is ridiculous.... Of course, someone may well pay that much... collectors - in general - are a strange breed. Sad, but disposable income - at least in this case - would be truly disposed. Cheers, RickO
Seller probably isn't actually interested in getting rid of it. He just has it out to draw attention. On the off chance that somebody wants to pay moon money, the dealer wins.
Thank you all for your support on this colorful BB Frankie.
I would like to own, but alas the asking price is beyond my pocketbook.
So what would everyone pay for it?
I bet it's a range and this should be interesting...
5K coin in anybodys mind.
