Hmmmmm. Any Potential on this one? If I dip it and get the Crude and film off will it turn "Blue" ?

Ummm..... just a tad too dark for my personal taste. Needs a good dip and a little tooling on the Bands to make them look like FB.

You're a pretty coin savvy guy so I assume you see something I don't. As far as I am concerned I'd be just as happy if it was lost in the mail.

It looks like a fantastic coin. If it's so funk nasty and still has good detail, it's a solid coin. A lot of the very fine details still exist.. let us know how this turns out.
While I can't say I've seen coins this dark naturally, I do see it in jewelry quite regularly... Either way I like the little mongrel!!

No-rub dip of baking soda, salt, aluminum foil and hot water.... that tarnish will vanish. Cheers, RickO
A dip won't save that coin. I suspect there is surface damage hiding under much of the blackness.
I'd be happy if I found a coin like that in circulation, but probably wouldn't buy one. It looks too crusty for a dip to work very well. I think it will look like it's stained. You might be better off leaving it as is.

You have a lot of hope. From my personal experience, I think it is way too far gone. Appears to have too much environmental damage. I have been wrong before though, so prove me wrong.
How did the coin "lose" half of the bottom diagonal band?
