Typically in canvas bags. Today, these errors are super rare, but less dramatic errors are nonetheless sometimes found in ballistic bags.
On the 1973-D Cent, is that a rim cud by the "3", or a scrape? From here it looks like a rim cud.
@GoldenEgg .... What is a ballistic bag?? The only thing I am sure of is the definition of ballistics - the science or study of the motion of projectiles, as bullets, shells, or bomb.....

I don't know if it is literally ballistic, but it's a term that is frequently used for them.
I will say that they are pretty darn tough! I have one of these that was used for the 2010 Hot Springs quarters, and it held $50,000 in quarters, weighing over 2500 lbs!
That is interesting.... nothing ballistic about it.... so not sure why the term is used. Obese would be a more applicable description.... Cheers, RickO
Perhaps they're made of woven Kevlar to both handle the weight and prevent accidental breaches and ballistic is the slang term for them?

Oh I know that ricko. In the strictest sense it would still have nothing to do with the term. That's why I said it could be a slang term. It does make sense as a slang term if it is made of Kevlar. Slang terms don't always follow a linear thought process. Associations work
