Tell me what I have here

This coin is on it's way to the mothership. I think it's a 1909 Proof cent which has been impaired with the rim damage. It's a bit unusual because the rim is also concave. What say you?

From that image, I'd say you wasted your money.

Looks like it might have come out of a "Lucky Penny"
    holder, or something similar.

    Not a Matte Proof, imo

Came here to say this, that rim is flat because the coin was once encased, you can find many 1909 encased cents on eBay to compare.

It looks like a business strike to me.

No matte proof in that high a grade should be missing half the reverse rim details. When holding a MPL in hand the edges should feel sharp. Much different than a business strike.

I believe the "Matte '09" has a marker on the reverse under the letter m and a little to the right, in UNIM. There should be an upside-down "U shape" there?

After the first few responses it was clear that this wasn't what I thought so I opened the package back up, removed this coin, re-did the paperwork, then shipped.

    Thanks for the help guys.

That was my first thought also. Probably an Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Expo encased cent. Living here in Buffalo, over the years I've seen an awful lot of 1901 Indians looking like this. Being that we had the Pan-Am expo here.....
