Well, new to you. I could not resist this raw type 1 as it is my Achilles heel, then ya add the color, bold strike, big square sharp rims and I'm a push over. Anyways, here's what I have to share with ya.....Unfortunately, I do believe it's been cleaned long ago and retoned. You can easily see the hairlines on the buffalo's side. I got it extremely cheap long ago and ran across it the other day. Now I remember it's been improved upon. Bummer!!! In the coin album it goes :(

Is your ideal buff album one that says "1913" under each hole? ;)

Thats a pretty one but I wouldn't expect anything less.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

I would have passed as AT/AU. Shows what I know about buffaloes. Their chips work well when in need of fuel for a fire...burn slowly.
LIBERTY melts into the rim and that is a strong strike? Just don't see it and that's probably why I have not even looked at my buffalo collection in years. Embarrassed to do so.

If I didn't get a almost freebie price I would have passed too. After all it is cleaned on the reverse. However, the obverse has not been cleaned and it is an attractive Buff for the coin album of 13 type 1 Buffs :D

What do you mean "found in the wild"?? I always assumed that meant in pocket change....Cheers, RickO

LIBERTY isn't strong on 1913's in general, even on matte proofs it sort of bleeds into the field. 1913 Type I, PR

I like it, and for "almost free" I guess you can't go wrong.

This buffalo nickel has all the markings of a proof.
    Thank you.
