1/4 Economy Sub Finally Back In- GRADES and TRUE VIEWS-- Curious "J.A. BOYER" counterstamp

Hey all! My 1/4/17 sub is finally back (electronically) and I am pretty satisfied. I'll go ahead and post the snip of the grades from my desktop, then log in from my phone and post the true views. Have a great day!

Here're the true views, in order:

I was, but I knew ahead of time it would not go. Too much rim. I was at least hoping for a fair based on total lack of detail of the reverse eagle.
Do you know about the A. Boyer counterstamp?

I've seen the same exact counterstamp "J.A. Boyer" on seated half dollars up until the early 1870s, but I do not know much about it other than that. I can only assume it was a "company store" sort of thing. My last name is Boyer, so I tried to have it encapsulated and failed lol.
I'm curious as to how that 1910 got a MS-62RD designation. Did you call them to see if it might be a mechanical error? It's a nice looking Lincoln, but I could only see RB as the best it could do.
The 51-S is sweet!
Im guessing it is because the reverse where the roll had it exposed is still a nice matte red. Whatever The graders say it is, I'm not going to argue. Lol
Thanks! I love the matte surfaces of it. It was cracked out of an ANACS MS64 slab I believe. The 53 was cracked from a brand new NGC 65 slab. Gotta love it.
I'm seeing a lot of low grade coins and poor-1 graded coins on the shared orders page.
Sometimes it's best not to argue. LOL
That 1913 Cent is to die for!
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
If the 1910 actually looks like the True View image then there is no way, no how that PCGS would ever call that a RD designation. It is either a mechanical error on the slab insert or simply an electronic error in their grade report.

nice group- did you think they would holder the Boyer counterstamp?
I think you can submit the Boyer piece as a token if it is in Brunk or Rulau

Counterstamped Coinage, from the reference "Merchant and Privately Countermarked Coins" by Gregory G. Brunk.
Rulau Tokens and Counterstamps, from the reference "Standard Catalog of United States Tokens 1700-1900" by Russell Rulau
The countermark is certainly clear enough - is there another problem with it?

I had to check my Rulau catalog, of course. It is listed J. A. Boyer as a maverick MV C21 (struck on a quarter) known on an 1858-O and cross-referenced to Brunk 4740
MV D21 on half dollars 1855, 1858
MV E21 on large cents 1827, 1840, 1854
MV F21 on a British penny
Perhaps you could re-submit it or give them a call?

yeah that is red all day (not)
congrats on the 53
ridiculous how they wont straight grade the 1960... there should be a reflex where coins like this go to error category (although with the crazy price they get for error grading I can see where that wont work... something needs to change)
.
nice presentation of grades/images.
Nice group!
