Wow, great looking medal by Karl Goetz.

And great history too. Just looked up the Battle of Sendling and the Barvarian People's Uprising against the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. It's been called the "the first revolution of modern history" by Henric L. Wuermeling.

    The battle is known as:

    • Sendling's Night of Murder (German: Sendlinger Mordweihnacht) or
    • Sendling Christmas Day Massacre

The Bavarians lost about 1100 troops compared to 40 for the Austrians.

Here is a fresco called "The 1705 Slaughter of the Sendling Farmers" by William Lindenschmit the Elder on the Old Parish Church of St. Margaret.

Consider posting it on the World coin forum as I suspect you will get some insight on the medal on Goetz in general... Very nice medal

A nice image, well executed on this medal.

Think it will need a soak in acetone?

    Yes sir, I like it!!

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
