OT concealed carry
If you have a license as a firearm dealer do you need a license to conceal? I never thought this through before now as I'm a licensed dealer but open carry (do not conceal) with no permit (allowed in Nevada). I was just wondering if I could conceal and if there is a real answer to this.
hmmmmmmmmm

Depends on the state you are in...every state varies.
There's a fight going on in my freedom hating state of Connecticut. People have been arrested when open carrying even though there isn't a law against it...
We are also required to have state permits to carry...the incompetent governer is trying to increase the permit costs 3x when it alreadycosts over $100 to get a permit.
Long story short, each state has different laws and CT is about the worst in the country!
Like they said, very state specific. Sometimes county and city specific. I'd just call your local sheriff's office and ask.
I don't think having an FFL gives you any particular right to carry, but that's just a guess.
FFL is a federal dealer's license - it would have nothing to do with carrying concealed in any state. It might help you qualify for a state license in some of the more oppressive states, though.
Take no person's word on this.
Go to the State site and research the statute.
It is amazing how much hearsay gets taken for truth.
(Connecticut bad...try NJ)
@ShadyDave You live in the state that had the Newtown shooting - small wonder they are legislating gun ownership out so that only the you know whose will have them. When I lived down south you could open carry. Could also open carry in Mother Russia of all places - though not sure how legal that was, but I saw people with even AK's out in public.
Yeah, I'm sure proficiency with a firearm comes into play....just a silly idea.
Calling the state police of that state is also helpful.
An FFL does not authorize you to carry concealed...Nevada does require a CCW permit... though open carry is not prohibited, it is frowned upon in some jurisdictions. Cheers, RickO
gun control = hitting your target. it makes ya wonder at times
On April 15, Gov. signed into law a measure making Mississippi one of 11 states that allows “constitutional carry,” or carrying a concealed firearm without a state-issued concealed carry permit. However, there are still caveats as to how and where someone can carry a concealed gun without a permit.May 14, 2016
Yeah, Getting a CCW was just silly compared to the fine if caught. Up until Jan 1st it was a misdemeanor and a $50 fine if caught so I just carried anyway, no worries. Now it's a felony if caught without a CCW and concealing....bummer. But really at my age who gives a rats arse? Not so sure if I'll bother. I used to have one and let it expire back in 89 or 90 as they raised the renewal price beyond what I thought was reasonable and just let it expire.
Wish me luck guy/gals.
