I never send economy. Sent it though for these 35 coins since they are my jeffersons which to be honest i don't really give a crap about... took quite some time lol
Clearly the "first in -- first out" statements given on the PCGS website are not true. I also find it a bit disingenuous and in poor taste when one of the PCGS "BOE" members ( @wondercoin ) comes along offering excuses for PCGS.
@WingedLiberty1957 I hope they charged you for the lower tier submissions given the absurd turn-around time.

Just using a $20 per coin est ... Total spent $28,600
I think PCGS should give me a Gold Star for being such a good customer!
Even subway gives you a Free Sub Card
Winged, all I can say it WOW. I can't relate to that kind of spending on grading fees. I would think that would be several new nice coins in the collection instead, so my question is would you say PCGS added 28k in value or more to your collection Yes or No, and if Yes, then maybe it isn't them that owes the thanks.
Some people enjoy complaining...they're in a big rush to put their slabs in their safety deposit box where they will reside for the next 20 years LOL
He paid extra for the Express tier that took more than 2 months. The normal turnaround time is around 9 days. He is posting just now. I don't see that as someone who enjoys complaining for the sake of complaining, and I see his concern as legitimate. You also have no idea why the OP is submitting. He could be eager to have the coins returned so that he can sell before the market deteriorates further. Maybe a family member has cancer and he was going to sell the coins to pay for medical bills. You have no idea.
"so my question is would you say PCGS added 28k in value or more to your collection Yes or No, and if Yes, then maybe it isn't them that owes the thanks."
I'll likely end up spending close to 28k THIS MONTH (not over the past 6 years) on PCGS grading fees for me and my customers. And, I am not looking for any thanks, other than hopefully from a couple of my customers when they hear their results on the coins I handpicked for submission for them! LOL. Wondercoin.

"Small guy" - The point of the $28k post I thought was to show a "BIG GUY" cost of submissions over the years. Anyway, we agree that every customer of a business deserves top treatment, small or large (whether they are buying gourmet filets or Slim Jims)!

My regular sub that went in 2 weeks ago got graded yesterday. Makes NO sense, but whatever. I have an economy sub on day 45.
Ok, so how does your two week ago Regular Submission get ahead of my Regular Submission entered on 2/13...Now 3.4 weeks old? Strange!
Good question, and I'd like to know! lol. I think it's backwards that the oldest submissions get graded last...shouldn't it be the other way around? At least I think so.... I've got thousands tied up so far for months with my 1/4 receive date (which i sent off before christmas) and for a small time operation...I need them back!!!
I've always thought that PCGS should try for a "First In, First Out" order processing within the same service level.
I have to say, that based on empirical evidence from my close to 300 submissions, the grading order seems much more random.
I have even had it happen to me that I would send 2 subs in the same shipping box, with the exact same service level and similar coins. They would both get checked in the same day, and one would finish a calendar month ahead of the other one! I never could figure out how that could happen with a first in, first out system. It's a mystery.
From a business standpoint, I can see them giving some preference to dealers and collectors who submit frequently. Judging by some of the posts here (including from dealers), that doesn't seem like the case. I wonder if your order was simply lost.
So not true.

You must have missed this quote in the op's first post.
_**On another front, I also sent in an EXPRESS submission that was checked in on January 10th. However for some reason PCGS changed my service level from Express to Regular in late January (no explanation given) -- and now that submission is getting close to 2 calendar months in queue (passing business day 40)
Express is supposed to take 10 business days and regular 20 business days.
**_
Why would PCGS take it upon themselves to change a submitters preference from Express service to Regular? If the submitter is willing to pay extra for faster service why make the decision to change to a different service level?
I wish PCGS would comment on this post. I understand PCGS is receiving large quantities of submissions, but three month + turnarounds are shameful and should at least be explained
Most of them aren't taking that long, so its is a bit of an anomaly. I just piggybacked an econ order that posted grades yesterday, I think it was a 1/19 order date.

It may have been PCGS's attempt to offer a partial refund after the turnaround time had long passed the Express tier and even the Regular tier.

That's odd since I just had a modern service coin turn around in just over 2 weeks from dropping at post office and back to my door. I was pretty shocked. I didn't expect to see that coin for about 2 months.

PCGS's social media people should monitor this forum. A quick response from them saying the problem will be addressed would do wonders!
That said, I'm sure all coins will get graded, eventually
PCGS should give the OP a coin voucher for at least 5 free coin submissions (and maybe 10).
