Interstate Coin Club Show in Hagerstown, MD today

I went to the Hagerstown, MD show this morning to walk the floor. The collector traffic was great at the start of the show, but tapered off after about an hour. Many people were asking about bullion silver and silver proof sets were selling well. Collector coins were selling and collectors were searching double row boxes of individual coins to fill their folders. I bought a couple raw circulated Franklins and Roosevelts, but nothing to take pictures of and post about. I did buy a used 14k diamond engage ring in size 6 for melt.
Unfortunately, half the room was empty of dealers with many tables empty. The two rooms could have been condensed into one room, the divider pulled out and one room would have looked full.
But....I had a great time and talked with ShortgapBob who was walking the floor. He bought an interesting silver ingot/round which I had never seen before. Hopefully, he will place a picture of it here.

I thought the mint state "1862-S" $2.50 Liberty was cool.

Who had the 62-s? The Interstate show has been going on from at least the early 60's; perhaps earlier. It was one of the first shows that I ever attended.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

It is a counterfeit. But it has a great look and would be worth a fortune if real. I bought it at melt for educational purposes.

Was it sold as a counterfeit ? What are the telltale signs that it is counterfeit ?
I was getting ready to type "I hate to inform , but its a counterfeit, but I see they already knew it"
Looks like a good counterfeit...
It is flashy and pretty well-made. It is also definitely gold… Probably 22 karat.
But the luster flow is wrong, leaving the luster with a slightly weird look that the gold guys will catch instantly.
It is also somewhat mushy in the strike details, note the "rounded" stars.

Obviously made to fleece collectors...but not a good job... Cheers, RickO
