Best auctions to sell?

I've just started to sell and did have a consignment to this years Fun show.
What do members feel are the best shows to sell.
Also selling currency so are some better for currency and some better for coins?

Auctions are usually risky. The big name auction house require a minimum amount ($5K) for consignment. The BST (Buy Sell Trade) section here gives you the seller an opportunity to advertise your goods free of charge. There is a fairly diverse grouping of collecting tastes here as well. I have parted out some consignments with some of the better known dealers which had mixed results. The dealers take the consigned items with them to the big coin shows and normally displays them their existing inventory. Some dealers specialize in certain type coins, which may gather a more particular interest. If you are insistent in an auction environment, there is greatcollections.com, Ian is great guy to deal with.

I'd say Winter FUN and ANA for US material, NYINC or FUN for World. Legend for certain items would best those (i.e toned Morgans)

If they have a bunch of items just like yours, you're screwed no matter who you sell through.
It depends on what you are selling.

Yes bigAl. I agree that it really will depend on what you are selling. My recollection is that you own some rather valuable items. If these are in the mix that's a different situation than widgets.
You may want to check the archives of auctions like Scotsman or Fox Valley Coin for coins expected to sell for $1,000 or under. Their fees would be lower than Heritage and others.
Also, an auction that offers reserves beats getting skinned alive.
Finally, there's nothing that keeps you from sending some coins to one destination and other coins to another destination. There are definite "right fits" to these issues.
I agree with this. For lower end/less expensive pieces, I would throw it up on eBay where you have full control of your item and pricing, etc.
