If you have "HOT" new coins to the market to sell in 2017.....which remaining auction would you use?

Looking for some advice. Which remaining auction in 2017 would you consign coins too if you have new material not seen in several years?? Thanks!!

I think the answer partially depends on what it is.
Depends on what the coins are. I would work with a "professional upgrader" before consigning. Who cares if you get 100% of hammer or pay a 5% sellers fee or even get a little above hammer if you sell your $2,500 coin before it is professionally upgraded. I've turned a number of "$2,500 - $5,000" coins into $20,000, $25,000 and even $30,000 coins in the past 30 days or so before they go off to auction for their owners. Others here do this as well. Work with a specialist in the area of what the coin is. Why leave huge money on the table especially on "new material not seen in several years". Good luck! Just my two cents.

As Wondercoin said. All depends on what the coins are. What are you talking about-rarities, moderns, or widgets?
i would go which ever auction company had the best results and was willing to really work with me. Yes, getting coins regraded is important-but over grading them can hurt.
What show you sell at does not matter anymore-its mostly internet sales at all the bigger auction houses anyway.
I disagree. Buyers are there looking at those coins and I also think traffic is lower based on the prices.
I disagree. Even though there are less viewers, basically every coin is bought.

Are we talking Kennedys and Ike's or Bust & Seated material? Condition rarities or "collector-grade" material?
I had a nice coin in a Pogue auction when Sotheby's did the auction. It was the worst decision I ever made. FUN or Legend would have been a better choice.
I would like to know what Wondercoin charges the potential consignor for upgrading their coins ?

I'm talking top pop or near top variety IHC and Buffalo varieties. Four figure items.....
Varieties can be hit and miss at auction in my opinion...might be worth looking into consigning with a dealer who specializes in IHC and one that specializes in Buffalos. Even after a reasonable consignment fee, you might net more than at auction without the downside risk.
You gotta be kiddin'- Professional upgrader?
I'd talk to Legend, and as msch1man said, specialty dealers. It also depends a bit on how anxious you are to see the money. If you're not in a hurry, it might be best to work with a dealer who can give your coins exposure on the website, at shows, shop around to his regular customers, etc.
Talk to the specialists in those areas here on the forum first (i.e. Eagle Eye on IHC's).... then, when you have a top notch input, decide on your sales venue - on which, by the way, they may also give some good advice to render. Cheers, RickO
