Please forgive me if this is a little lengthy or drawn out as it is the first time I have even attempted doing this. I will update this post at then end of each day of the show.

Day one is in the books as I sit here in the lounge of the Hilton relaxing and having a drink with my helper (wife or aka better half). :)

Our short three and a half hour trip from KC was pretty easy and painless. The doors opened up at 3pm and we arrived shortly after. It took us a little while to get set up but there were plenty of early birds and other dealers stopping by our table as we were putting stuff out. Sold several things ranging from a bright white 21-D Morgan PCGS MS65 to a bunch of seated type. Overall I think the floor was pretty active all the way up until the 7pm close time. Pics below are from my phone but this Indian Cent was my main pick up for the day and it looks better in hand than the pics show.

Friday the doors opened to the public at 10am and there was a sizable line waiting to get in. The bourse at times throughout the morning was pretty crowded. A majority of the dealers including were busy the entire morning and in to the afternoon helping customers. I did not get out from behind my table until some time around 1pm. It stayed steady up until about 4pm and from that point it started slowing down. We were actively buying new material as several collectors stopped buy to offer what they had. Most dealers at the end of the day seemed to be very pleased about the amount of business that they had. We have not been doing this very long but we had our best single day of sales since we started. Here are a few purchases that we made throughout the day.

Saturday last year was the best day for us, however this year the weather was spectacular for a mid February day as highs were in the 70's. This, I believe, was major competition to being indoors at the show. Attendance was noticeably smaller and I had way more time to look for more material to refill empty holes in my 2x2 pages. Again as the day went by we were offered a variety of items by customers coming up wanting to sell. We picked up some okay stuff and a couple nice items. To me one of the most notable was a gem bu roll of 47-S Lincoln Cents. There were some dealers that started packing up to go home by the late afternoon. All in all by the end of the day it turned out to be a productive day buying and selling for us.

Today being the last day of the show it was the typical slow day, the crowds are smaller and many dealers are leaving or have already left to take those long trips home. That being said, the wife held down the fort most of the day and I was out again looking to buy new material. I picked up this CBH this morning along with some cheaper things that many customers around my area like to look through. This pic pf the CBH does not really show the luster that remains but I was figuring it would grade AU53-55 if sent in for grading, which I may do. After a little digging around I think I figured out that it is a an Overton 113, nothing rare but I love the double and triple profile of Liberty.

In closing we had a great show and both of us enjoyed our time there. Most of the other dealers I talked to agreed that the show was a success for them as well, and that is a good sign I think for the remainder of the year. We got to meet with other dealers and friends that we had not seen for a while to catch up with what has been going on in their worlds.

Where are you on the bourse? I'm planning on walking it again tomorrow....must have missed you today...or I met you and didn't know it was you and you didn't know I was me...
Good luck at the show, it's usually a good one.

Thanks for the report! Because I attend very few coin shows, I especially appreciate posters who take the time and trouble to write about their show experiences. I look forward to reading about Friday's and Saturday's events.

We had an active show too. Beautiful weather on Saturday did keep the attendance lighter than Friday.

I visited with Tom Reynolds briefly while he was busy cataloging some purchases with another dealer. He didn't have a single Large Cent out, but he had 2 1/2 cases with top-tier Type coins. I told Tom that I felt almost like an orphan without any Large Cents to look at, but I was almost tempted to become a V-Nickel collector. This is the "experiment" he was telling me about last show.

My only buy was a 1/4 oz Plat that I thought I needed as an upgrade, but the one I already had was good. Now I own two of them. Oh, I did also buy a couple of cool arrowheads as well.

Dennis King was there with quite the selection of toner Morgans, there was a fair amount of bullion, but nary a single Gold Spouse on the whole floor. The 1 kilo Kooks are kinda cool, a couple of dealers had them.

There were at least 3 maybe 4 dealers with nice ancient and some foreign coins. I always like to look at the Greek & Roman stuff, but that's another whole minefield that merits study before buying.

Only one complaint, I noticed a Plat in one dealer's case and 5 minutes later when I went back to inquire, he was packing up and didn't want to get it back out. This was early Saturday afternoon of a 3-day show. A $1,300 coin and it was too much trouble!

Either way, a day at the coin show is better than most other alternatives.
