So I've been wanting one of these for a little while but every time I go to the LCS I forget to ask if he's got any. Well I finally asked and he had one left. Let me know what y'all think

    I remember saving up and buying one for $15 from the mint when they first came out.
    That would equate to about $7,000 today. :/

    I like your set.
    The Bicentennial was such a great time to be a kid.
    Red , white and blue everywhere. Patriotic themes. I was all about it.

    Nice set! I love that set so much I have 2, the finish on it is amazing to me and the designs magical.

    I remember when they switched to the 76' design. For an seven year old at the time it was coolest thing ever, they changed the designs on coins! It was the 1st time a coin had changed in my lifetime (save the Ike but I was 2 so it didn't make an impression) and I was excited.

    Now they have several designs a year on the quarters and change the dollars up often so, I suppose it's not a special when a design changes.

    Cool set! Many people forget there were no 1975 coins for that year so the '76'S had to do double work.

    That dollar definitely looks CAM.... maybe better... I should pull mine out today (snowing) and look at it.. Cheers, RickO

    @DPage1985...CAM is short for CAMEO.... and DCAM is short for DEEP CAMEO... Cheers, RickO

    CAM

    Short for Cameo. Also, PCGS grading suffix used for 1950 and later Proofs that meet cameo standards.

    Cameo

    The term applied to coins, usually Proofs and prooflike coins, that have frosted devices and lettering that contrast with the fields. When this is deep the coins are said to be “black and white” cameos. Occasionally frosty coins have “cameo” devices though they obviously do not contrast as dramatically with the fields as the cameo devices of Proofs do. Specifically applied by PCGS to those 1950 and later Proofs that meet cameo standards (CAM).

    DCAM

    Short for Deep Cameo.

    Deep Cameo

    The term applied to coins, usually Proofs and prooflike coins, that have deeply frosted devices and lettering that contrast with the fields - often called “black and white” cameos. Specifically applied to those 1950 and later Proofs that meet deep cameo standards (DCAM).
