That is very cool. One of the toughest things to do in collecting, in my opinion, is to match coins that have the same "look." That set has a great "look." And it's not just about the slabs.

Very cool. To finish off the set for 1909 65RB cents four more coins are needed.
1 - 1909 VDB PF65RB Lincoln;
2 - 1909 MS65RB Indian;
3 - 1909-S MS65RB Indian; and
4 - 1909 PF65RB Indian.
Don't forget about some of the 1909 cent varieties too... though not sure they were attributing these in the time of the rattler.
1909 Indian Head Cent DDO FS-101
1909 V.D.B. Lincoln Cent DDO FS-1101
1909 V.D.B. Lincoln Cent DDO FS-1102
1909-S/S Lincoln Cent RPM FS-1501
1909-S/S Lincoln Cent RPM FS-1502
Would also be cool to add a 1909-S U.S.-Philippines One Centavo to the mix... just another cent made by the San Francisco Mint that most U.S. collectors forget about.

Finding the just right coins, in the just right color and grade designation, and requiring them to be matching rattlers is a cool and fun thing indeed. If it were possible to, it would be fun to try and do an entire set in rattlers. Taken to that extreme, I'm not sure it would be possible to have everything also match in color and grade. But fun to try, yes.
Any minor surface scuffs will polish out nicely of course, on the rattlers. Everyone has their favorite but Novus plastic polish is what I prefer, and works great.

Love the old PCGS gaskets!
Wow, that is pretty cool.
I wonder if a VDB proof in a 65RB rattler exists.
Lance.
I couldn't get an answer to that question out of the hoard guy's rep
Definitely cool.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Very nice set of Lincolns.... Cheers, RickO
That's a neat set. I wonder, does the PQ sticker on the proof have a story attached, or is it just a generic descriptor?
Awesome! There is some dude on eBay using those PQ stickers. I have seen them before.
PQ sticker .... pqapproved.com/about-us/
Love it and love the rattlers! Technically they have no gaskets -- not in those days of grading. It's all hard plastic.
Wrong PQ sticker. The one in the pics is a just a generic sticker.
Now that is cool I really like that
HAPPY COLLECTING
The sticker is prob an early predecessor. I bought a coin with that generic PQ sticker before...an 1869 $1 Gold NGC 62 (it upgraded to 62+ at PCGS).
Very neat set of Lincolns!
I'll bet that was fun to put together. Very cool!
Close to full 1909 1C Type set for sure!

I can honestly say that I bought the holders and not the coins.
A great set. One with the Indians would be nice.

Can we use this out of context when you post some of your dollars?

Will you be sending them to CAC? (Minus the '09-S VDB)
Great looking set by the way!
Nah. It's a long term project for my own amusement. CAC need not be involved
Dimeman will be glad to hear that.
Man, I would send them. A Gold on one of those babies is a work of art!
Nice display of Lincolns; cool idea and pursuit. Good luck with the Indians!
Fun!
Great set.

Very very cool.

My OCD.... I would not like Lincoln looking at the ground.
I think of Illini420 . . .whenever I think of 1909. But nothing at all against this quite unique . . . and special set!
Beautiful pieces . . and quite a unique goal. Bravo!
