Seeking thoughts on this common Wheat

Was going through some rolls that I've had since I was a kid, this one stuck out from the rest. The small white fleck on the obverse is a piece of debris which has since been removed. What do you think is going on with the upper left of the reverse?

I see there is quite a jump from 6 to 7 on this one so those spots are bothering me since the obverse is so nice.

look for a MS66RD in a PCGS holder
Maybe Angel Dees coins has one or two!

Are those spots flat or raised? Some look raised... could just be the picture... anyway, that will limit the grade. Cheers, RickO

They appear to be raised, as if something is on the surface

My guess is an old finger/palm print.

corrosion is my guess. Try a nice soak or two with acetone (won't harm the coin) and a rinse in distilled water and pat dry....good luck,

If It has specs fleck or any spots marks, forget submitting it. I just went thru 100 rolls of 58, 58 d and 64 lincolns , fresh bu rolls that had been put away from early on. I found 3 coins that might 67+ 68 rd. I let you know when they grade, and they were by far superior to any of the others, now whether or not they give me the grade will have to wait and see.

As long as you are doing it for adventure its fine, but these dates in Lincolns can be had for a song already graded. I cannot tell you all the money I wasted to learn this lesson.

PCGS is tough on these. No 68's have ever been certified and there is exactly one 67+ (probably something Andy Skrabalak achieved).

Even 67 is a lofty grade, difficult to get, and valued around $1k according to the PCGS price guide (though auction records show $500 - $900 for PCGS-graded Lincolns -- NGC is another matter altogether).
