I think the host deleted the thread. Some very intemperate things were posted.

I think you will find your answer below. Larry Sheperd and John Albanese are respected members of the numismatic community. I'm sure PCGS didn't want a conversation pitting the two against one another.

Rule 7) This is a PCGS forum. Posts promoting or bashing other grading companies or services are not allowed. Those posts will be removed and your posting privileges may be removed as well.

I noticed that not all the facts and some half truths were posted.

There were multiple violations of the posting rules in that thread.
Perhaps even some bammings will take place?

    It's still there!!

  • It always seems that when someone gets the nerve to be brutally honest, there are always those that get offended.

I was reading that thread and will say this there is brutally honest (which I am) and there is not being totally honest.
some of the post should have never been posted!
on the other hand the real truth never came out!

    Truth or libel.

Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

Maybe he threatened to sue PCGS like he did the ANA (or am I thinking of someone else?)! :D

When it was strictly about the color or toning on coins it was fine.

When one poster told another "you probably have never even been with a woman", the thread circled the proverbial toilet and went below the level of the scum on the bottom of the bowl. Has nothing to do with being offended - if you can't have a debate without personal attacks, then all you really are is a baiter. And a master at it, I might add.

It was all very interesting. Reading it all I felt like an outsider with a ringside seat. Looked to me like some folks in the "inner-circle" were doin' some feudin'.

Thread started as innocent question. Didn't see it before it got poofed.

The stuff that can't be posted and should not have been would have been very interest.
But then again reading between the lines always contains more information than some see and others don't.
Years ago someone posted a before and after of a coin that a dealer had, that was very informative...
