Mercury dime clash

Sandman70gtSandman70gt Posts: 1,040 ✭✭✭✭✭

Picked this up for fun. Didnt have any clashes yet. I didnt know much about clashed dies.
Looked on this board for info and didnt come up with much. After playing on my phone a bit I found this app.: photolayers. Allows you to stack pictutes, flip, make opaque etc. Pretty cool.
Then I found this site:
http://www.maddieclashes.com
For more clash info.

And with photolayers, not perfect but my 1st time using.

That's neat. Not sure if I seen a clashed merc before. Nice photography by the way.

I've heard of this on the 1945, but this is the first I've seen on a 1923. Neat coin.

Nice. I can see a hint of letter transfer at the axe blade too. Should garner a small premium

Definitely shows the clash and your overlay really tells the story.

    Pretty coin.

I have a 1942 Philly example that is not quite as prominent at the nose, but more prominent below the chin and reverse right field. Any value for these?

Wish the photography was mine! Big ebay seller's photos. My overlay. It's the only clash I've seen on a merc dime. From what I've read value is a slight premium, but buyers are harder to find.

Maybe a touch over to the right guy but the bigger money doesn't come in to play until there is letter transfer. The stronger and more visible the transfer the more premium they will typically bring

That is pretty cool! Here is a 1934 I have in an old anacs 64 holder. Sorry about the terrible white balance.

Clashed 16S. Clashed Mercury Dimes are fairly common.
