    It has an odd look for sure. The hairlines in the right hand upper field looks like a cleaning to me and the discoloration on the device looks like wear or a strong rub of some kind. It appears her extended arm is flat? It's a common date, I'd sure move to another one. As far as grade, it might be damaged, but if not, AU55 seems appropriate.

    It's got hairlines and has been cleaned. Looks to has some residue on it, as well. Looks like AU 58 details.

    That's a dead bird on the grading floor, cleaned with steel wool or brush.

    To me it looks like an AU that was dipped in something.
    I think it would grade not bagged.

    Yes, PVC along with evidence of some less than successful methods used to remove it.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals.
