Things you will never hear a collector say

How about; That coin is too nice for the price you are asking, how about an extra 20% over blue sheet.
I am trying to put together a matched proof set all with haze in the fields.
Do you have any coins with deep gouges I could buy?
Do you have any coins toned absolute black I could look at?They must be all origonal.
I will pay a premium if the coin is in a ACG holder.
Is there anything you would really like to dump, that I could buy?
I am looking for Modern Clad Coinage in heavily circulated condition.
I dont care if the coin is overgraded, I collect the plastic grade
even if the coin is butt ugly.

This one won't work, some of us are making Holey Coin Vests!
<<I dont care if the coin is overgraded, I collect the plastic grade not the coin. >>
Unfortunately, this one doesn't always apply either.
"Do you have any Modern Clad Coinage in heavily circulated condition?"
My favorite phrase/question.
It's where I can't even walk up to a table at Long Beach without the Dealer glancing up at me and just shaking his head back and forth.

You have any coins run over by a train? I really like the flat luster affect

What did the doe say when she came out of the woods?.....Last time I do THAT for a buck!

I'm sorry, but Shiroiichan asks that all the time. lol

"Wow, a PCGS MS68 state quarter. Think of the history of this coin, the places it's been. Gee, I wonder what you could've bought with this when it first came out."

nucklehead, I'm not sure what the strangest thing I've heard is... and since I'm a collector, too, I don't want to think about it too hard. It might have been something I said.
Camelot
at todays closing price.
Camelot
A white haze in the fields, Dark brown or black tarnish and hairlines.
Unfortunately , a nice coat of haze will ofter obscure the lovely hairlines
in the field. I really like the way they catch and defuse the light.
Luckily, I am able to obtain most of the things I like on my Proof Coins
directly from the US Mint. How lucky can a collector get with service like that. Bear

It's really great that I can now pay 1200 for the coin you bought last week for 750. Gee I'm so glad you saved me the trouble of bidding in the auction. Taking a chunk out of the middle to flip a coin really adds value to the hobby. We really need more like you to make this hobby great.
<< <i>there are many fine dealers out there both big and small, who we all respect and enjoy doing business with on a daily basis. >>
Yes Bear there are many fine dealers who add value to the hobby and provide a service of helping collectors learn, locate the right coins and in general provide support for which they receive compensation. There are many more who only look to buy low and sell high and think the business owes them a living for doing this.

Had to revive this 14 year old thread of Bear's.....I really miss him on this forum.
Thanks. I missed it the first time around and it makes me smile to reflect that the Bear, through his special posts, lives on. (Thanks to the mods for the archiving feature.)
I'm on my way to eat a jelly donut.
One of the good ones for Shure he is missed.
Hoard the keys.
Bear posted some great post for sure
I miss him, and some. Others!
Bear was the best poster this forum ever had, warms my heart just to see his icon again.
What is your return policy? I want to list these on eBay and if they don't sell I want to return them for a full refund, or if the markets are up I would want the new higher price for them.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

Nice thread and OP.
"Do you have any artificially toned AU Morgans that you can sell me at an MS63 price? Better dates if you got 'em.
Great. I'll also take that monster toned 2016 ASE."

I too miss Bear.

"I don't think I could fit another one in my collection!" When I first joined the forum he was my favorite poster, and I could really see and feel the respect that he received from everyone. May he rest in peace.
God bless you Mr Bear, please put in a good word for me ok?

I had just thought of the "Wise Old Bear" the other day and am glad that one of his posts was revived. It speaks volumes about him that he is remembered so fondly by so many. I hope his collection is all MS70+ these days and he is enjoying great peace
Bear was a forum favorite and a real gentleman.... his Coinalot stories were the best.... Cheers, RickO
I never really interacted with him, but I am fond of his posts.
RIP Bear.
