Not only my first purchase of 2017 but also my first Barber other than 90% junk silver. I guess it wasn't technically my first purchase as I bought a few items from Heritage, but they haven't even shipped much less arrived. I actually bought this coin and the seller ended up overnighting it for no additional cost! I was surprised when he texted me today while I was busy and asked if I received it. To my surprise when I get home there it was!
It is certainly a beauty and now one of my favorites, I might have one of my best acquisitions of 2017 two weeks in :D ![]
I apologize for the poor camera phone photos, I will be getting this one imaged soon!

I like the proof Barber halves a lot, as they have dropped in price the past few years. PR64 examples can now be purchased for under $1500 in some cases, including some very nice coins. I prefer the PR65 and PR66 coins, which have also seen dramatic price reductions. Mintages on some of the late dates are under 500 coins, and the 1890s dates offer some phenomenal cameos, especially 1896-1898.

@GoldenEgg Not at this time but I saw this one on another coin forum and just had to have it! I messaged him and asked him if he would pass the dealer info on to me if he passed on it but he messaged me he bought it. A few months later he messaged me asking if I was interested in buying it from him so I did! It came from Puerto Rico oddly enough.
