I have one like that in the original mint packaging! Maybe I should consign it to that seller. I never dreamed that crust was so enhancing. I might even give someone a deal and accept an offer of less than $90 for someone to take it off my ha...., I mean for someone to appreciate the beauty and originality of this magnificent cent in the original proof set.
Another idea- maybe it could be car battery terminal topper. If it attracts that "toning", perhaps it would protect the battery terminal. Imagine the possibilities.
I have seen some corrosion like that in a few US proof sets from the 70's-80's. I am not sure if it is related to humidity, moisture, or problems with the plating at the mint.

Wow. Chia is getting into the coin business now. Who knew
I think I already have that disease so it would be safe for me to own.
You can transfer some of the toning on that coin to any other in your collection!
Check out my iPhone app SlabReader!
You can only get this coin once in a "Blue" moon

Could it be those 'blue scrubbing bubbles' at work?
What a stunning example of the mineral malachite! Oh wait, it's a coin.

Well it comes with a capsule so that's something special
That just means that none of the toning gets lost during shipment.
What's the line for someone here buying it before midnight ET? I'll go -180
My vote goes for: a sample of the "Great Barrier Reef" what with it's coral blue growth. Watch out for the shark roaming on the surface of the cent.
Hey, and it's only $90! What a score for someone!

Warning : Andromeda Strain !
Do you think it will get a straight grade?????

Look like coral growing on it. You might get sick from that nasty thing.

Sure enough...my first job (at 14) was working at a movie theater starting in 1982.
