unless it was a rare die marriage, I would not want to own it.

Looks market acceptable even if it might show signs of lighter cleaning/dipping. Photos aren't good enough to be sure. AU50/53 with obvious luster.

    AU53/55, cleaned/hairlined, doesn't do much for me.
It would have to be cheap for me to buy it.
    Would be tough to move.

What reference lists the 1856 dime as a "good" date....unless you happen to cherry pick an unusual variety or the coin is gem mint state? Put an "O" or "S" on the back and it gets a little better, though the "S" will cost you serious money with much better "values" out there at the price range. In the group of "unheralded" and more affordable 1850's Philly seated dimes in XF/AU I like the 50, 51, and 52. Slim pickings. Best bang for the buck is probably the 1851....and it doesn't hurt that the 1851 quarter, half, and dollar are scarce and popular coins.

Way too cleaned. Bargain bin coin.

This coin has too many problems for my taste. Cleaned fairly harshly. If you buy it, I predict it will disappoint you in the future. be patient and wait for a coin you can show off with confidence.
