I bought a commemorative half dollar....
I've always wanted one a these. Yes I bought it raw but at a fair price. I just love that oak tree My favorite commemorative of all of em. I think the design is GORGEOUS
The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
One of my favorites too....way to go!
I love Connecticut commems! They are superb pieces of art.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Great coin and your photography is always excellent. Only downside : I wish you had bought it from Tom B -- where I got my Connecticut and he always seems to have a nice PQ mid-grade.

Maybe Tom can help me locate a nice Vermont. I'll make a note
Nice... However I just hope you realize that's not a buffalo on the reverse?
LOVE it!! Congrats!
An excellent coin.
Wow! That is quite a looker! Congrats!
I also just noticed the lathe lines on this and now I'm starting to see it on other pieces. Very cool!
Love the subtle yellows in that coin
HAPPY COLLECTING
Nice purchase! It is a great design, as are many of them.
One thing just hit me, though. The oak tree seems to have inspired the "Keep on Truckin'" guy's pose. Note the guy's arms are posed like the lower limbs of the tree.

Ya know I never noticed that before and your right
Great choice, Joe.
This commemorative has been on my list a long time. I'd like one like that.
Lance.
Great addition to your herd Joe. The Buffaloes will appreciate a relly nice tree to stand under........
That made me laugh out loud . Good one!!
It truly is a great design. I have a hundred plus year old oak tree that I stare at every day
and I mentally compare it to the Charter Oak from the Connecticut. No more then 50 feet away I have a 60 foot palm tree which I stare at every day also. I never think about the Columbia commem which dipictes a palmetto tree as it sucks design wise. The tree almost looks plastic.

Very nice. The charter oak and art deco eagle are coin design at its best.
Thank you my friend. I gotta say I do love everything about the design. Yep the eagle is one of the best , I love it.
Very nice! Congrats!
I like the Charter Oak design.... with one small exception, and that exception always jumps out at me .... The leaves on the tree are way out of proportion to reality...far too large compared to the tree. I suppose the artist did that to depict the leaves in a visually recognizable form, but it spoils what is otherwise a beautiful design. Nice coin. Cheers, RickO
One of my favorites too. Nice pickup!!
U.S. Type Set
Nice....
Hoard the keys.
i got one as well. i do love the color on yours as well. nice score
Thank you bud. Yes this is my favorite commemorative buy far.
This is also my favorite commemorative coin design as well. There must be something about Buffalo Nickel collectors and oak trees.
By the way, I've always loved that "Don't even think about messing with me" look that the eagle has.
Very nice....congrats!

Yep! Standing strong given you the evil eye
That is very nice.
Possibly my favorite eagle in all of numismatics.
The oak is kinda cool but reminds me of one of those scary cartoon trees I saw as a kid.
Very nice addition.

Trying to put my finger on why this design catches my eye...
A great find. I love the Charter Oak Obverse. The colour adds to the 'wow' factor. Your piece is well stuck.
Thank you my coin brother. It's a pretty well struck piece with just enough toning to give it a little more bling.
Thanks again as I've want one of these for many, many years. This one's gonna work out just fine.
Happy hunting, Joe
