I partnered up with a friend of mine on this forum and bought a coin raw. We sent this VERY rare coin in for grading and it graded like a champ and cac'ed. We sold it in a Heritage auction and we split about of 2K profit between us.
That along with some other great purchases I'm a very happy collector for 2016 .
But it also marks the year my beloved brother in law passed away. He was also one of the best friends a guy could have.
He will be deeply missed
The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
I neither bought or sold a single coin. Placed a few bids at auction but came up short. I plan to sell a couple of pieces at the start of the new year though and to use some of the money for a new purchase.
Then there were all these little guys... all located separately and purchased in 2016. The 11-D is an AU-55/CAC. Suffice to say, I think I'm good with this series.

Very nice coins every one. Every year is a good year for me I have fun doing what I do for work and play and I'm still healthy and have a good family, friends.. Bought and sold several great coins during 2016. Was a fun year overall. Especially with the ANA World's Fair of Money being local this year in Anaheim. Was especially great to find a PCGS Regency Sample Slab at that show. Really fun to meet lots of forum members at a big show like that as well.
Also had some neat samples and medals made up in 2016.
