New purchase just arrived. Unbox it with me?

Just arrived via FedEx from the UK:
May I present...
The Lidded Tankard
Sterling, London, 1770
1050 ml volume
20.5 cm height
Jacob Marsh*, silversmith
And with her new siblings, the John Payne sterling pint mug, 1774, left, and the James Stamp, 1775, sterling can, right:
And here she sits with some period-correct colonial coinage to make her relevant. Though to be honest, dated, sterling silver artwork of the era seems very appropriate to this numismatist

Very cool and I like the period coins, as well. However, to be completely honest, I wasn't wearing my glasses when I opened the thread and at first glance the second image in your post looked like a sheep and I said to myself "he bought a white sheep!"

Agree!
Ed to add: What is a period sterling silver cup collector called? A tankardist or mugardist? Very nice either way...
is that you end up being governed by inferiors. – Plato
Will wind up in a details slab: It's been dipped. Needs to retone to match the others.

Cool!
Dont forget the period correct time piece to remind yourself when to leave the bar. Im still perfecting this piece, needs crystal and fine adjustment.
Fine English product you have there. Would like one to be brought into the shop some day.
Nice @Jinx86 !

Cool stuff...!
This is the era that 'we' colonists were not thinking well of our English overbears (to make a noun out of a verb). It's nice to know that we can afford to buy some of the history that made us.
Love it! Lets see those hallmarks!

The reason I asterisk'd Jacob Marsh. The dealer I bought it from identified it as Marsh. The dealer they bought it from identified it as either Marsh or John Moor (Grimwade 3658).
I personally think it's John Muns (Grimwade 1518). The date of 1770 is correct, and Muns entered his mark in 1753 and 1757--so this piece would fit well.

Grimwade can be tricky as the marks are drawn vs actual marks pictured.
I need a copy!
Great looking hallmarks by the way!

This is one of my family heirlooms from the Norwegian side of the family. But I only got the top of the tankard! The top is dated 1769 and the coin is from 1733. Wish I knew more about it's history.
Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.
Ubercool!
I knew @asheland was gonna be all over this one!
@TomB- I had MY glasses on, and that cocoon of bubble wrap looked "sheepish" to me, too! LOL
Gotta love that British silver!

Kinda wish it was an American piece of the same age, though

Yeah, very true. Just add 25K to the price and you're all set!

@Weiss Where did you buy this tankard from? Looks neat to add something like that to a collection
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
Thank you. This one came from Wax Antiques in London:

I am thinking it is John Moore. One of his tankards dated 1770 is in transit to me with the following hallmarks:

Ah but how do you know it's John Moore?

An unrelated dealer identified it as John Moore and the hallmarks look mighty similar - same year as well.
