Here are some modern gold commemoratives from my collection. While some of the designs are boring, some are rather pleasant IMO. The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.

I always thought the 1988 Olympic gold and 1999 George Washington gold had rocking' good designs as well.

I agree Tom, I really like the 1999 $5 Washington.
Skyman, I'm working on the $5 Modern commemoratives myself. It is a showcase of 10 favorites. Nice photos. Very difficult to take in the slab.
Love the Gold, even if it is modern.
All gold is awesome - at least to me....
The Eagle on the reverse of the '99 Washington is amazing... I like the many Eagle designs, but this one ranks at the top.... Cheers, RickO
Agree. Looks like the eagle has a suit of armor.
The Washington portrait on that '99 is strong and clean. I've always liked the look of that coin, particularly in the proof.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
First time I have seen the 2002 Winter Olympic gold commemorative from SLC. Very impressive and unique design with a bold look.
