Hi Guy's, Has anyone else been through what I'm going through? I'm realizing at my old age of 59 1/4, I constantly forget where in the world I put things! Most people probably document If one sells or not certain items in their collection. Unfortunately, I do not. My big problem is I store all my collection in different areas in my house. I can't seem to find some Proof sets and a particular coin? I swear, I didn't sell them, but knowing my brain, I might have? The coin I'm searching for is the "1888 Indian Cent" I purchased years ago. I'm thinking it might be the famous 1888/7. I really couldn't tell through my loupe but now I have a chance to borrow my friend's Dyno Camera to precisely check it out. but I can't seem to locate the darn coin! Oh well, I might have sold those Proof sets but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't sell the 1888 Cent. Only God knows. Thanks guy's.-joey

Either you get it down some number you can keep track of in your head, or you get better organized. Start with a safe, at least when you get used to stashing it all in one secure place, you can stop worrying about it disappearing.

Thanks for the advice. The thing is, I know this what you mentioned but I just can't seem to do!

I misplaced a coin for about 6 months once. I sure was happy when I found it.

My best re-find was a type 2 2000 off center cent that disappeared but reappeared a week later in the front seat of my wife's car.

Conclusion, she came into my office and set her purse, keys and stuff on my desk and when she scooped up her items she also disappeared one of my $100 coins.

Buy a good safe and keep all of your collectibles in it. I'm sure this'll help.

Couldn't find an English sovereign a couple of weeks ago, scoured the room, finally found that it had fallen into the trash basket and worked its way to the bottom. I now call it my fool's gold sovereign. :D

I used to go through a lot of coins. Occasionally one would drop and hit the hard carpet floor. I actually saw one hit the floor, travel across the room and lodge itself vertically between two cabinets. If I hadn't seen it happened, I would never have found that coin, unless of course I move.

Think about it really hard and search for it for a day or two then completely forget about it and it's location should magically pop into your brain relatively quickly. Works more times them not

Well... I have misplaced a coin or two... and have told the story about my missing gold Indian a few times on this forum...but since I have a massive safe and two nice coin cabinets, they never get far (except for that Indian). And I am considerably older.... I just forget to do chores (hmmm that may be selective memory :D )... Cheers, RickO

I have a friend who misplaced an 1856 FEC in PCGS MS62!
He freaked out and finally remembered that it was on top of a display case (up high)
This was in a retail store with employees and customers, so I can understand the panic.
