Given this article, pcgs.com/News/Altering-One-Of-Americas-Favorite-Coins-The-1877-Indian-Head, I'm assuming they found that because it has strong N's on the reverse, it's not a business strike and thus must be a proof, assuming also they first agree it is genuine. Hard to tell from your pictures whether the N's are that strong.
So there are no genuine struck for circulation 1877 cents with the N strong. A lot of people had to look at a lot of 1877s to come up with that. Verrry interesting. Could happen, I guess.
